Hello! My name is Emma-Jayne; I am the youth and children's/community worker at Woodvale Methodist. This is just a little about what I have been up to.
As lockdown measures have been in place it has stopped us from doing things in person therefore our sunday school and children's services have been moved online. We do children led services once a quarter and our sunday school runs on zoom every week after the main service that I run with Shankill Methodist. If any chidren from the circuit would like to attend, please let me know and I will give you the zoom details!
Working from home has allowed time for me to dream and plan for events and projects that I would like to run like Messy Church and a youth club as well as given me time to get the correct child protection and volunteer policies in place. I have also taken this opportunity to write programmes for future use and attend training.
Within the community, I have been continuing to attend the HUB meetings and the health forum meetings with the other community groups which is still meeting on zoom but providing a way to start to network with other community groups. I have been helping at our foodbank and at the connect base with both the community garden and baby basics.
Getting to know the members of the congretation and the families has been a little more difficult with covid but between visiting, phone calls, bible study and chats before the service, I feel I am really getting to know the family of Woodvale and am so blessed to be here!
